We finally made it to Strahan, and honestly, it didn’t take long to understand why people talk about this place the way they do. Tucked into the edge of Macquarie Harbour on Tasmania’s wild West Coast, it’s one of those spots that quietly gets under your skin — the kind of place where you arrive planning a quick stopover and end up not wanting to leave.
We spent the weekend just wandering, eating too much, and pointing a camera at anything that kept still long enough. The bay around Strahan Village is ridiculously photogenic at pretty much any hour — golden light in the mornings, dramatic skies in the afternoon, and a stillness over the water in the evenings that makes everything feel a little slower and a little better.
Here are a few shots from our couple of days there. Nowhere near a complete picture of the place, but hopefully they capture a little of what makes it so good.
